This mind map is about business communication that I have
learned for half semester. It has six sections which are research and
problem-posing, breakthrough skills, CCCD process, conscious communication,
people skills, and verbal and nonverbal awareness.
Research
and problem-posing has five main ideas which are describe the situation,
issues or problems, why it’s happen, how its affect you, and solutions.
Breakthrough
skills have four goals to keep in mind which are develop a global mindset,
practicing cultural agility, managing relationships, and creating
opportunity.
CCCD
process has four sections which are choose a communication goal, creating
the message, coordinating with others, and deliver the message.
Conscious
communication has four components: conscious communication is mindful, conscious
communication displays awareness of communication as a process, conscious
communication respects diversity, conscious communication requires
balancing strategy, ethics, and outcomes.
People
skills, people has 15 different skills: diplomacy, organization,
problem-solving abilities, team-player skills, initiative, leadership, flexibility,
persuasion, ethics, honesty, written communication, verbal communication,
creativity, educational interests, and humor.
Verbal
and nonverbal awareness continuum include unaware (unclear, no strategies,
exclusive, unsupportive), moderately aware (mixture and attempt between
unaware and aware), and aware (clear, strategies, inclusive, supportive).
I learned about workspace by observed the offices in BUUIC. Workspace is a reflection of the image you want to portray at work. Your work area should be neat, free from clutter, and clean and limit the display of artifacts. I have observed almost all of the instuctor's office. Everybody has different styles to decorate their offices. Some office is very neat and clean. But some office is very mess and full of documents.

I learned about conscious communication. It has three
sections, unaware, moderately, and aware. I think most of people will be in the
middle. Sometimes people don’t care about what they talk but sometimes they
think carefully before they talk. I am also in the middle. Some situations I
have to think before I talk and some situations I don’t have to think so much.
We were separating in to a group of three which includes
Garfield, Rebecca, and I. We were reading Mary’s story. We have thought what should
or shouldn’t Mary do. We have applied what we have learned before to this case
for example, breaking through skills, communication concepts, conscious
communication, and cccd process. Finally, we did the video about Mary’s case.
